Question: Can I receive Social Security disability benefits while there's a pending warrant for my arrest?

Answer 1/2
Surprisingly, the official government website for Social Security has an answer to this very question (see http://www.ssa.gov/pubs/1 0029.html and search for "warrant").

The answer appears to be YES, you can still receive Social Security disability benefits unless the warrant is for any of the following felony offenses:

(a) flight to avoid prosecution or confinement
(b) escape from custody
(c) flight-escape

In other words, if you're running from the government they aren't going to pay your benefits.

Furthermore, if the warrant is for any of the above offenses, you must tell Social Security about it or you'll get into worse trouble.
