Question: What do you think of Birket Foster?

Answer 1/2
Birket Foster was a celebrated artist, born at North Shields; his earliest work was done in wood-engraving under the direction of Landells, and many of his sketches appeared in the Illustrated London News; following this he executed, in collaboration with John Gilbert, a series of illustrations for the works of Goldsmith, Cowper, Scott, and other poets, in which he exhibited a rare skill in rural scenes; subsequent work has been in water-colors, and in 1861 he was elected a member of the Water-Color Society. Born in 1825; died in 1899.
