Question: Who killed John F. Kennedy? Was it multiple shooters? Was there a conspiracy or just one person acting alone?

Answer 1/2
The most likely scenario is that a single shooter, Lee Oswald, killed Kennedy as part of a larger conspiracy.

The main argument against a single shooter is the claim that either the shot from Oswald's vantage point was too difficult or that too many shots were fired in too short a time span.

There have been many re-creations on television (for example, "JFK: Inside the Target Car" on Discovery Channel and "Who Shot President Kennedy?" on NOVA) and many claims from gun enthusiasts asserting that the shot from Oswald's vantage point was not especially difficult. The distance of the shot varied from 175 feet to 265 feet, not particularly far for a scoped rifle. There is little reason to doubt all of this testimony.

As for the timing of the shots, the Warren Commission claimed a minimum of 7.1 to 7.9 seconds was available for the three shots. Later analysis has concluded that at least 8.6 seconds was available to fire the three shots (see http://www.jfk-online.com /jfk100timing.html ). A recent piece in the New York Times says 11.2 seconds was available with 6.3 seconds and 4.9 seconds between shots (see http://www.nytimes.com/20 07/11/22/opinion/22hollan d.html ). All of these claims show the feasibility of Oswald acting alone since three shots can be fired in less than 6 seconds.

Although Oswald carried out the assassination alone, he was probably part of a larger conspiracy. Oswald claimed this himself saying that he was "just a patsy." It seems inconceivable that a career criminal like Jack Ruby would promptly murder Oswald in a sudden fit of patriotic zeal, thus dooming himself to either execution or life behind bars. The murder of Oswald by Ruby can only be explained as part of a larger operation.

The most likely explanation is that either the mafia arranged the Kennedy assassination (because Kennedy had gained the presidency with mob help and had then started cracking down on mob activities) or that some secretive agency within the government (like the CIA) saw Kennedy as an obstacle or wanted revenge against Kennedy for betraying the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba.
