Question: What is a "mole" in chemistry?

Answer 1/2
If I have a dozen cookies, how many cookies do I have? 12 cookies.

If I have 1 mole of cookies, how many cookies do I have? 6.022e23 cookies (that is, 6.022 x 10^23).

Like the word "dozen," a "mole" is just a count of something. It's intended to count molecules but could count anything ("mole" is short for "molecules").
