Question: How do I connect my electricity-generating wind turbine to the electric grid (to sell power back to the electric company or just to use in my house)?

Answer 1/2
Note that not all areas allow you to sell electric power back to the grid, so check with your utility company first to see if it's even feasible. Texas, for instance, has state laws requiring power companies to accept "net metering" (selling electricity back to the power company).

The key device you'll need is a "grid-tie inverter." In all likelihood it will be necessary for the utility company to install this device themselves because, among other reasons, they don't want you messing up their electrical grid.
