Years ago I did a performance that was later stored and distributed on DVD. The company that made the DVD slapped a "copyright" statement on the label of the DVD. Now I want to make a new DVD of my performance. Do I need permission from the company that made the first DVD? Did they somehow gain copyright over my performance when they distributed it on DVD?
